Install Darktrace osSensor for Windows

How to install Darktrace osSensor for Windows. Download the latest osSensor from the Darktrace customer portal. Install the osSensor and configure the vSensor IP address, HMAC token and device to listen to.

• Darktrace osSensors are lightweight server agents for Linux and Windows virtual machines (VMs)
• The osSensor is used to send information from monitored VMs to a vSensor in the same virtual network (Vnet)
• When you install an osSensor it is registered with the Darktrace vSensor using the vSensor's IP address and a shared HMAC token
• The osSensor HMAC token is created during the vSensor setup
• vSensor's should be deployed in the VNet before installing osSensors

Download Darktrace osSensor for Windows

Download the latest osSensor for Windows from the Darktrace customer portal

Select osSensor

Scroll to the bottom of the page for the Windows osSensor download 

Install Darktrace osSensor for Windows

Run the MSI installer osSensor_v6.0.19.msi

Click Next

osSensor configuration

vSensor IP Address: 192.168.1.50
This is the IP address of the vSensor that is in the same virtual network as the virtual machine you are installing the osSensor on

vSensor HMAC Token
The osSensor HMAC token that was created when the vSensor was installed

Device name or IP range to listen to: 192.168.1.25
This is the IP address of the virtual machine you are installing the osSensor on

Click install

Updating osSensors

To update osSensors, you will need to uninstall both Npcap and the osSensor and reinstall the latest osSensor downloaded from the Darktrace customer portal. The latest compatible version of Npcap will be installed with the new osSensor.
